After a hiatus of one and a half years, the game will make a comeback in India, with Indian cricket legend MS Dhoni serving as its brand ambassador. A new character named Thala will also be released in the game.
The ban on Free Fire was primarily due to concerns over the improper handling of data. Garena, while adhering to regulations, has announced the return of Free Fire India. They have decided to prioritize data security by partnering with Yotta. They had signed an MOU (Memorandum Of Understanding) with Hiranandani Group in July 2023. They also signed a second MOU with the Uttar Pradesh government to promote esports.
