INDIA or BHARAT – Political News: President Draupadi Murmu is being referred to as the President of India instead of the President of Bharat. During September 18th to 22nd, the Modi government has called for a special session of Parliament. In this special session, there is a possibility of a bill being presented to change the country’s name, as proposed by the Modi government.

The mention of President Draupadi Murmu being referred to as the President of India instead of the President of Bharat is seen in an invitation letter for a dinner event in the 20s. This has sparked discussions on this topic.

However, in the ongoing debate about this name change in Bharat, there is a significant opportunity for Pakistan. If the name India is changed, Pakistan can make a strong claim over it. This possibility is being discussed because if India changes its name, Pakistan can assert its claim over it, as per the South Asia Index report.

According to the report, if India removes the name India at the United Nations level, Pakistan can make a claim on it. Reports also suggest that Pakistan’s former Prime Minister, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, had opposed the name India and had suggested Hindustan or Bharat as alternatives.
