“Famous American actor Danny Masterson from Los Angeles, California has been sentenced to 30 years in prison. On Thursday, a judge sentenced ‘That ’70s Show’ star Danny Masterson on charges of sexual assault against two women.

Masterson found guilty in two out of three cases
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Charlene F. Olmedo handed down the sentence to the 47-year-old Masterson after hearing testimony from the women and arguments from defense attorneys about the accuracy of the statements. The actor, who has been in custody since May, appeared in court wearing a suit.”
“Before the sentencing, Masterson waived his right to speak, and there was no visible reaction from him after the judge’s decision. None of his family members present in the courtroom showed any immediate reaction either. His wife, actress Bijou Phillips, had already broken down in tears during the proceedings.

In his second case, he was found guilty on Thursday of two out of three charges of sexual assault against Masterson on May 31. After dismissing a motion for a new trial, the judge sentenced the actor, following a hearing on Thursday, where the maximum sentence allowed by law was imposed. This means that Masterson may be eligible for parole after serving 25 1/2 years, but he could potentially be incarcerated for life.”
“30-year sentence
Before pronouncing the sentence, Olmedo told Masterson, ‘I know you firmly sit here, confident in your innocence, and there is no doubt that you feel aggrieved by a justice system that has failed you.’ ‘But Mr. Masterson, you are not the victim here. Your conduct 20 years ago robbed another person of their voice and choice in some way, and in some manner, you must come to terms with the consequences of your prior actions.’

The defense requested that the sentences for both convictions be served concurrently and asked for a sentence ranging from 15 years to life imprisonment. The prosecution sought a full 30-year to life imprisonment sentence, for which Masterson was eligible.

Masterson’s attorney, Sean Holley, told the judge before the sentencing, ‘The decision you make today will have a profound impact on his life.’ ‘And the life of his 9-year-old daughter, who is his world, and for whom he is the world.
